چکیده

We propose a hybrid hierarchical classifier that solves multiclass problems in high dimensional space using a set of binary classifiers arranged as a tree in the space of classes. It incorporates good aspects of both the binary hierarchical classifier (BHC) and the margin tree algorithm, and is effective over a large range of (sample size, input dimensionality) values. Two aspects of the proposed classifier are empirically evaluated on two hyperspectral datasets: the structure of the class hierarchy and the classification accuracies. The proposed hybrid algorithm is shown to be superior on both aspects when compared to other binary classification trees, including both the BHC and the margin tree algorithm.

Random Forests of Binary Hierarchical Classifiers for Analysis of Hyperspectral Data

Statistical classification of hyperspectral data is challenging because the input space is high in dimension and correlated, but labeled information to characterize the class distributions is typically sparse. The resulting classifiers are often unstable and have poor generalization. A new approach that is based on the concept of random forests of classifiers and implemented within a multiclass...

Feature extraction of hyperspectral images using boundary semi-labeled samples and hybrid criterion

Feature extraction is a very important preprocessing step for classification of hyperspectral images. The linear discriminant analysis (LDA) method fails to work in small sample size situations. Moreover, LDA has poor efficiency for non-Gaussian data. LDA is optimized by a global criterion. Thus, it is not sufficiently flexible to cope with the multi-modal distributed data. We propose a new fea...

Spectral-spatial classification of hyperspectral images by combining hierarchical and marker-based Minimum Spanning Forest algorithms

Many researches have demonstrated that the spatial information can play an important role in the classification of hyperspectral imagery. This study proposes a modified spectral–spatial classification approach for improving the spectral–spatial classification of hyperspectral images. In the proposed method ten spatial/texture features, using mean, standard deviation, contrast, homogeneity, corr...

Logical selection of potential hub nodes in location of strategic facilities by a hybrid methodology of Data Envelopment Analysis and Analytic Hierarchical Process: Iran Aviation case study

Hub facility location problem looks to find the most appropriate location for deploying such facilities. An important factor in such a problem is the pool of potential locations from which the optimal locations must be selected. The present research was performed to address two key objectives: identifying the factors contributing to the selection locations for hub establishment, and presenting ...

Evaluation of the Chinese Fine Spatial Resolution Hyperspectral Satellite TianGong-1 in Urban Land-Cover Classification

The successful launch of the Chinese high spatial resolution hyperspectral satellite TianGong-1 (TG-1) opens up new possibilities for applications of remotely-sensed satellite imagery. One of the main goals of the TG-1 mission is to provide observations of surface attributes at local and landscape spatial scales to map urban land cover accurately using the hyperspectral technique. This study at...
